What’s My Motivation?

Sunday, December 21st, 2008

Lots of movies are coming out right now, and if you follow the news, you’re bound to see lots of actors talking about the same thing: their motivation. All the time, actors will ask directors “What’s my motivation?”. Believe it or not, cartoons could ask the same question.

After all, when you create a cartoon, does it have a reason to look so good and dress so well? If it doesn’t, then you need to think about what your cartoon’s motivation is. We at MakeACartoonYou.com have a guess.

You are your cartoon’s motivation. Your cartoon is motivated by you and who you are, just in the same way an actor’s motivated by a director. Your cartoon gets motivated by your personality, your style, and your unique world. So now the only thing to make a cartoon avatar and start making something great!

Surely You’ll Love Shirley

Saturday, December 20th, 2008

Today’s Cartoon of the Day is Shirley. During the day, she’s a cocktail waitress at one of the city’s fanciest restaurants. Forced to wear all black at work, she loves to break out when the day is over. And she definitely does. With a neon green top and boots, and bright blue tights in the middle, she’s guaranteed not to fade into the dark. Want to make your own bright spot? Then create a cartoon today- and add some color to your life.

Is 2009 the Year of the Cartoon?

Friday, December 19th, 2008

For those of you who aren’t familiar, the Chinese typically assign an animal to each of their years. Believe it or not, 2008 was the year of the rat. Technically, 2009 is supposed to be the year of the ox. But what if it were something different? Something…funner?

We’re officially starting the campaign to make 2009 the Year of the Cartoon! Doesn’t that make sense? Who needs an ox when you can have a cartoon? Can an ox help you express yourself? Can an ox look cool and dress beautifully? Can an ox help you express yourself to your friends? No- of course not!

But a cartoon can. So cheer with us and we’ll make 2009 the Year of the Cartoon. It even sounds great. So join us and make your own cartoon. Let the year begin!

Gary’s Not Looking So Good

Thursday, December 18th, 2008

Today’s Cartoon of the Day is Gary. Gary used to be a sartorial wunderkind, funding his purchase of snazzy suits and polished shoes with money from his job as a financial broker. But soon, the pricetags on those $5,000 suits started adding up, and Gary went looking for a little extra clothes money. He did it by making illegal trades, so now his outfits look a little different. Decked in stripes and accessorized with handcuffs, Gary dresses the same every day- whether he likes it or not. Fortunately, when you make a cartoon, your outfit will be a little less expensive.

Are Cartoons “Green”?

Wednesday, December 17th, 2008

All of us are worried about the environment. We only have one planet, and it doesn’t make sense to let it go to waste or be damaged. That said, we can’t help but ask an important question: Are Cartoons “Green”? Our researchers have more than a few reasons to believe that they are.

Think about it- at MakeACartoonYou.com, cartoons live on the computer. Instead of requiring valuable paper and ink, they use electricity (which our staff conservation team tells us costs less). Still, you can help make your cartoon “greener” by making sure you use a screensaver when you aren’t busy cartooning.

So yes, cartoons are green. That’s a great reason to create a cartoon today- you’re helping the environment, and yourself.
