Have A Cartoon Contest!

Tuesday, May 26th, 2009

Are you and your friends trying to think of cool ways to make your cartoon new again? We’ve got an idea.

Have a cartoon contest!

What’s a cartoon contest? Well, there are a million different ones you could do. But here’s one we thought of.

1. Write some funny words on pieces of paper and then throw them in a hat. Words like “cool,” “angry,” “funky” and other funny words will work.

2. Mix up the pieces.

3. Withdraw one. Now, you and your friends compete to see who can make the cartoon that best matches the word you picked!

4. Judge em. Get another person to judge who did the best.

It’s easy to think of contests to spice up your cartoon life. So go ahead and have a cartoon contest today!

Gadriel Should Not Be Teaching First Grade

Monday, May 25th, 2009

Today’s Cartoon of the Day is Gadriel. A gothically inclined young man, Gadriel has tried to change his palette to suit his first grade students. Purple boots, neon shorts, and a striped hat certainly accomplish it. Blue hair and a retro fedora make him a little brighter, if not more approachable. He may be in technicolor, but when he teaches the alphabet he still says “D is for Death.” Want to make your own (partly) reformed goth? Then cartoonize him today!

Give Your Cartoon A Vacation!

Sunday, May 24th, 2009

It’s summertime, finally. Why not give your cartoon a vacation?

“But how can I give my cartoon a vacation,” you may say. “It’s a cartoon!”

Easy- all you have to do is give it a break from the day to day. Wouldn’t it be fun to change your cartoon’s background or give them a summer outfit? In a way, it’s a way to make a vacation without having to leave your computer screen.

Isn’t that the best time?

So go ahead and make your cartoon a summer cartoon right now!

Chris Wants To Be In Fashion- No Matter What!

Saturday, May 23rd, 2009

Today’s Cartoon of the Day is Chris. Born in Los Angeles, Chris has always been in close proximity to the chicest fashion trends. That doesn’t mean they’ve worn off on him. He’s always had his own…unique…style. His striped blue shirt and sea-salt green pants actually fit quite nicely together. Sneakers give throw a little lime flavor in the punch. The hat and goggles might be a little overboard, however. But a guy’s got to stand out somehow. Want to make your own fashionista? Go ahead and create cartoons- just leave out the goggles. Please.

Need Cartoon Help?

Friday, May 22nd, 2009

Many times, we at the MakeACartoonYou.com offices will come back from a long game of squash and have an email like this waiting in our mailbox:

Help me! I need your help in cartooning, cartooners.

Do you need help? Of course! We’re here to provide the tips and tricks that make cartooning great.

Help, however, doesn’t mean that we’ll suddenly be the ones making your cartoon. We can only help so much, because making a cartoon you is something that you can do best.

You must cartoonize for yourself.

Are you ready? If you are, then make your own cartoon right now!
