Artists Can Have Cheerleaders Too

Thursday, May 21st, 2009

Today’s Cartoon of the Day is Astrid. An NYU art major, Astrid always wished that she could cheer somebody on. Then she met Dean Stein-Leibowitz, a conceptual artist who makes portraits of financiers from melted gummy bears. Turned on by his insight, she decided to cheer on her muse. She looks good as she does it- a streak of gray gives her hair a solemn dignity, but green tights keep her flirty and bright. Purple pom poms- NYU’s colors- make the look complete. Want to cheer your own favorite artist? Then make a cartoon cheerleader today!

A Cartoon Limerick!

Wednesday, May 20th, 2009

One fun way to spice up your cartooning is through poetry. We’ve done it before, but now we’ve got a new spin: Limericks! Once you read ours, try writing your own.

Boredom is bad it is true,

it’s a time with nothing to do.

But boredom will sink,

when you click on this link,

and make a wonderful cartoon you!

Jamal Baits And Switches

Tuesday, May 19th, 2009

Today’s Cartoon of the Day is Jamal. Popular with the ladies, Jamal seems approachable enough. A pink hoodie softens his chiseled face, and Ugg-esque boots make him easy to talk to. But just when the females have been wooed, Jamal pulls out a box of chocolates. Except instead of declaring his love, he shows them the “Hate Ya” stamped on the box and runs away laughing. Nobody knows why Jamal is afraid of love. But at least he looks good running away. Want to create a prankster of your own? Cartoonize people right now!

Play A New Song!

Monday, May 18th, 2009

How many times have you been sitting somewhere and realized that you were listening to the same song yet again? And, for the first time, you realized you were a little sick of it?

We’ve all had the moment when something that was once amazing becomes a little drab and dull. It’s not bad- it’s natural. What is bad is if we do nothing about it.

Sometimes, that can happen with cartoons, too. If you play the same melody for two long, you stop hearing the music.

Make sure your cartoon doesn’t become a drone- change it up! By giving your cartoon a new hairstyle, accessory, or style, you can make an old song new again. Make your cartoon fresh!

Doesn’t that sound nice?

Katya Is A Rose

Sunday, May 17th, 2009

Today’s Cartoon of the Day is Katya. A pale polish rose, Katya gives “pretty in pink” new meaning. In a deep pink dress with hints of bubbling purple, she manages to amaze everyone she sees. Her boots keep her grounded and free from puddle splashes. If you see her scarf trailing in the wind, make sure to follow quickly- Katya will be gone in a flash. Want to create your own Katya? Then cartoonize today!
