Cartoons, a poem by Idongesit William Williams from Nigeria

In this world of chaos,
Trauma and pains.
From New York to laos
With nothing to gain.

Comes Man’s invention
So witty and true,
That breaks pain’s convention
With bliss to accrue.

With animations of humor,
His fellow man laughs,
Forgetting his tumor,
Soaked in hilarious coughs.

Chaos stands still,
Merriment parades,
The heart has its fill,
Soon end the charade.

Pain returns to ban,
Reality dawns on man’s platoon,
It was a flash in the pan,
Made possible by a cartoon.
