Cartoons And Your Brain
Like most readers of MakeACartoonYou.com, we are “New Yorker” addicts! We just finished a piece on Vilayanur S. Ramachandran and started passing it around the office immediately. We’re sure all of you have read it, so we won’t summarize it. But it got us thinking about how behavioral neurology makes a lot of sense when you are making a cartoon!
When you make a cartoon, you’re making a visual representation of yourself. Maybe the same neurons that fire when you look in a mirror or see another person do something fire when you make a cartoon you! Ramachandran famously uses that for therapy. You could too!
